TEST express : Combat 11m

SWITCH LANDBOARD - 90FREESTYLE

Development Concept

Marc Jacobs one of the top PKRA riders joined the Switch development team to design a high performance landboard purpose built for kiting.

Marc wanted to push the boundaries of the standard landboard to suit his style of riding. Light, strong, low swing weight, quick response, smooth handling and high quality components that would last.

SWITCH TWIN TIP - MJ COMP

Development Concept

Marc Jacobs one of the top PKRA freestyle riders joined the Switch development team to design a board around freestyle competition riding. On the PKRA world tour, competitors have to perform as many high performance tricks in the competition area in all sorts of conditions from waves, chop, flat water mixed with light to strong winds.

To dominate in these diverse conditions Marc needed a board that had explosive pop for high performance tricks, fast upwind ability to stay high in the competition area to perform more tricks, a smooth controlled ride in any water conditions and finely tuned flex for extra control in hard landings.

The MJ COMP Switch Kiteboard was developed to perform in anything the PKRA could dish out and also strong enough to handle Marc’s extremely powerful riding style.

Design

Rocker
Progressive rocker through the core flattening out towards the tips to improve speed and maximum pop.
Bottom
A rolled single concave flattening out towards the tips to maintain speed while heading hard upwind.
Outline
A curved center into flat wide tips to lift the board high on the water increasing control and minimizing spray in rough conditions.
Flex
3D optimized flex pattern to maintain massive pop while still giving you enough flex to control the hardest landings.
Fins
G10 high strength 45mm fins purpose designed to match the MJ COMP.
Boots or Straps
Flex, strength and inserts are optimized to be used with boots or pads and straps.

Construction

Core
3D machined responsive high strength Paulownia wood fiber.
Layup
Multi layer triax glass fiber configuration for maximum strength to weight ratio.
Rails
Shock resistant ABS.
Inserts
M6 Stainless steel inserts with PU and ABS reinforcing.
Fins
High pressure G10 glass fiber construction.
